Nabbing The Providers Of Alcohol To Teens
Schools around the country are using a new weapon to fight the devastating effects of underage drinking – Alcohol Breathalyzer tests. Orders for the portable alcohol-measuring devices have risen 120 percent in the past four years as many higher learning institutes take a hard line stance against teenage drinking.
Alcohol Testerss are becoming increasingly popular at school-sponsored events such as dances and sporting events. Colleges have begun to test some students attending college football games, while high schools are giving Alcohol Breathalyzer tests to students attending proms and other school functions .
It is estimated that there are approximately 11 million alcohol consumers, who are under the age of 21 in the United States.
Eventually, it will be brought into light that when you will have to be aware of exactly who you are providing alcohol to , whether it be at your home, in bars, as underage drinking will not only be illegal for the underage youth drinking alcohol, but the person providing them with the alcohol . Local establishments in State College, Pennsylvania have been getting cracked down on and given hefty fines for serving alcohol to underage students and teens . They have developed a program called SIP which stands for Source Investigation Program to track down people or establishments supplying alcohol to underage drinkers.
No wonder schools and colleges are starting to utilize Alcohol Testerss to make sure that students are obeying the rules Not only is it indicative of a penalty against the students, but with the law being more stringent with alcohol being introduced to minors , it makes people want to be more concerned Since it is public knowledge that this is a grave concern, and the fact that teens are trying to get drunk faster by binge drinking, alcohol has to be steadily monitored, not only to see if teens have been drinking but to monitor people who may be providing the alcohol. The binge drinking has become so prevalent that hospitals are reporting an increase in alcohol related emergency room visits by adolescents due to the rapidity with which they are drinking and thus bringing on alcohol intoxication which could end up as a deadly result .
