Cooking Asparagus Requires Correct Preparation

When preparing asparagus for cooking many chefs will strip off the outer layer. While this is not a necessary step, it does tend to make the spears more tender. While it is the fibers inside of the outer layer that need softened when cooking asparagus, it is advantageous to peel only a couple of spots about the outside.
